What is St. Thomas Preschool?

St. Thomas preschool opened its doors in the Fall of 2009.  It is a faith based preschool for families of children who turn 3 and 4 years old by September 1st.

Our Mission Statement

Through the highest developmental and educational standards that seek to address the intellectual, spiritual, and physical needs of every child, the mission of St. Thomas Preschool is to guide children to LIVE as examples of Christ, to LOVE as Christ loves us, and to SERVE as Christ calls us to serve now and throughout their lives.  Live, Love, and Serve as Christ  We pray that God will continue to guide us as we embark on this mission to Live, Love, and Serve as Christ in this community.

Our Philosophy

We believe the parents are the primary educators of their children and that our role is one of support and professional service to the family.  We believe our preschool is an expression of faith and that Christ is at the center of our school life.  We believe the school we share will prepare our children for the future and enable them to bring the message of hope to a world crying out for peace and justice.  We believe these ideals can only be fulfilled through the cooperation of our staff, parents, administrators, and the preschool advisory board.

What is the daily routine/curriculum?

Children ages 3 and 4 can benefit from a preschool experience that is tailored to his/her individual developmental needs.  This can have an impact on brain development and later academic success.  The daily routine will foster development in all areas including speech and language, fine motor, gross motor, pre-literacy, self-esteem, sharing, life skills, pre-academics, spiritual development, and learning to have fun and enjoy others in a safe group setting. A curriculum that allows for all of the above will be utilized. What are the program options?St Thomas is dedicated to serving the needs of families and will, therefore, offer flexible program options based on level of interest.  Families may choose from a half-day (8:15-11:00 a.m. with early drop off option of 7:00 a.m. if needed) or full day  (7:00 a.m.-5:45 p.m.) program.
